About

We are an American Cycling Association and USA Cycling registered road bicycle racing team based in Louisville Colorado. Also known as Sonic Boom Racing, our team members race in the SM 1, 2, 3, and 4 categories while also competing in junior, 35+ and 45+ races as well. Established in 2005.

  • Presence in 97 road race events in 9 states (CO, KS, WY, OK, AR, NM, UT, AZ, WI) between February and September 2010

2010 participation

  • 9 category upgrades of our team members.
  • At the start of the 2010 season we had 3 active p-1-2 riders.  We ended the season with 9.
  • 1 rider finished the season with participation in  50 races, 4 finished at 45+, 6 finished at  35+, 11 finished at 20+ and 18 finished at 10+
  • Presence in Pro-1-2, cat 3, 35+, 45+, cat 4, and junior events
  • Junior Development program has been a huge success
  • Continued presence in virtually every ACA event including training events, cyclo-cross events, and mountain bike events

2010 Individual Highlights

  • Second consecutive SM 3 ACA Best All-Around Team title
  • Juniors sweeping podium at Superior Morgul Classic
  • SM3 team winning team Omnium at the Superior Morgul Classic
  • Peter Dunlap taking 4th GC at the Dead Dog Stage Race
  • Matt Duncan taking 2nd GC at the Rocky Mountain Omnium
  • Kit Recca taking 3rd at the Salida Omnium
  • Eric Steele and Matt Gibble leading the team in podium appearances with 9 and 7 respectively
  • Eric Steele winning the Colorado Mini Classic JM 17-18
  • Lance Niles setting a new course record at the Firehouse 50 Individual Time Trial in Wisconsin
  • Presence at big USA Cycling events – Tour of the Gila, Joe Martin Stage Race, and Tulsa Tough

2010 BAT/BAR (ACA Best all-around team and rider competitions)

  • SM Pro-1-2 – 11th place
  • SM 3 – 1st place
  • SM 4 – 4th place
  • JM 17-18 – 2nd place
  • 5 riders placing top 10 in their respective BAR competitions

2009

  • Presence in 53 road race events in the Rocky Mountain region
  • ~170-180 starts for our team members
  • Finishes for team members in all the ACA and USCF events we participated in –
    • 102 were top 20
    • 56 were top 10
    • 18 were top 3
    • 7 were victories
  • Presence in Pro-1-2, cat 3, 35+, cat 4 events
  • Presence in ACA cyclo-cross events in Colorado
  • Presence in virtually every ACA event including training events

2009 BAT Overall
